Sunfire Ignite Landing Page
Run your modern workloads on the VMware you already own.
Containers, Kubernetes, security and monitoring don't need a second platform. Sunfire builds them on top of your existing vSphere or VMware Cloud Foundation estate, hardens them, and hands them over running — in weeks.
# Where are you today?
Pick the line that describes your estate.
Virtualisation is solid. Containers and modern apps are still an open question.
You already hold the entitlement — including Kubernetes. Most of it isn't switched on.
Running, but not hardened, automated or production-governed end to end.
Any of the three — read on. This bundle was built for you.
# BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE
Two questions that tell you whether you need this.
We'd rather you self-qualify in thirty seconds than sit through a pitch. Answer these honestly — the result decides whether there's a conversation worth having.
QUESTION 1
Do you have workloads that need a container platform?
- • New or refactored applications your developers want to ship faster
- • Microservices, APIs or event-driven services in the roadmap
- • AI/ML or data workloads being planned or piloted
- • ISV or vendor software now shipping as containers
- • Dev/test environments that take days to provision
- • A DevOps or CI/CD mandate you're expected to support
QUESTION 2
What are you running those workloads on today?
- • Nothing yet — it's on the roadmap, not on the floor
- • A separate Kubernetes stack — OpenShift, Rancher, Tanzu or self-managed
- • Public cloud — EKS, AKS or GKE, with cost and data-residency questions
- • Docker on VMs — working, but nobody would call it production
- • Not sure — different teams have made different choices
✅ If you answered yes to Question 1 - this applies to you.
If your answer to Question 2 is "nothing yet", you haven't started and the fastest, cheapest route runs through infrastructure you already own. If it's anything else, you're very likely paying twice — a second platform, a second licence, a second security model and a second skill set, alongside a VMware entitlement that can already do the job.
Get your estate assessed# These are the five sentences that come up in almost every VMware conversation we have.
If two or more sound like your team, the rest of this page is written for you.
The entitlement is signed and the cost is in the budget. The Kubernetes automation, security and observability capability inside it has never been turned on, so the business sees a renewal, not a platform.
Standing up VKS is one thing; running it — upgrades, networking, storage classes, ingress, certificates, day-2 — is another. Hiring that skill set in India is slow and expensive, and it isn't your core business.
A second platform means a second licence, a second security model, a second monitoring tool and a second team. Infrastructure you already pay for sits underused while the parallel stack absorbs the budget.
Cluster hardening, RBAC, network policy, image and registry governance, secrets — all deferred to “after go-live”. Then the audit arrives, or a regulator asks, and go-live is what gets delayed.
Monitoring is installed but not tuned to the workloads that matter. There is no baseline, no meaningful alerting and no single view across virtual machines and containers.
Fair. Large modernisation programmes are hard to fund and harder to defend. What you need first is one real application, running on your own infrastructure, that you can show people.
Sunfire Ignite - a Kubernetes-first bundle on the VMware you already run.
One engagement that installs, configures, hardens and hands over the four capabilities modern workloads actually need. Built on VMware Cloud Foundation, delivered by engineers who do this for a living, documented so your team can own it.
Kubernetes (VKS)
VMware Cloud Foundation 9 ships VKS natively. We turn it on properly and run it as a real platform.
- Supervisor and guest clusters
- Networking, load balancing, storage
- Ingress, certificates, upgrade path
Container workloads
Your applications containerised, deployed and running - not a demo cluster that sits idle after handover.
- Application onboarding and deployment
- DEV / UAT / PROD separation
- High availability by design
Security & compliance
Security parameters set at build time, not retrofitted after an audit finding.
- Cluster and node hardening
- RBAC, network policy, secrets
- Image and registry governance
Automation & observability
Provisioning that doesn't need a ticket, and monitoring that tells you before your users do.
- GitOps and CI/CD integration
- Monitoring, logging, alert baselines
- Day-2 runbooks and handover
Underneath every engagement: identity and access management, backup, monitoring and security — the shared foundational services that make the platform supportable on day 200, not just day one.
# THE BENEFIT
What changes for you. Not features. The things you can take to your CFO, your auditor and your development teams.
Spend nothing extra on platform licences
The container platform is inside the VMware entitlement you have already paid for. You fund the engineering to activate it — not a second software stack running in parallel.
One platform, one team, one skill set
Virtual machines and containers on the same infrastructure, the same identity model and the same monitoring. Your existing VMware administrators stay relevant instead of being bypassed.
A working environment in weeks
A live cluster with a real application on it, inside a scoped engagement — early enough to prove the direction before anyone commits to a multi-year programme.
Hardened and governed from day one
Hardening, RBAC, network policy and image governance are part of the build, so security review and audit evidence don't become the thing that delays go-live.
Ready for what's next
AI/ML, data services and modern applications all assume a container platform underneath. Putting one in place now removes the blocker before the business asks for it.
Your infrastructure, your data, your rules
Everything runs in your own datacentre or hosting arrangement — data residency, sovereignty and regulatory obligations stay where your compliance team needs them.
You need it to work without a new team.
One or two sites, a lean infrastructure team, no dedicated platform engineers. You get a right-sized cluster, your priority applications on it, and a partner who runs the parts you don't want to staff for.
You need it to scale and stay governed.
Multiple sites, multiple business units, DEV/UAT/PROD and DMZ separation. You get multi-cluster architecture, standards that hold across teams, DR and performance engineering, and governance that survives an audit.
You need to prove it, not just run it.
Banking, insurance, healthcare and public sector. You get hardening mapped to your control framework, segregation of duties, audit-ready documentation and workloads that never leave your jurisdiction.
# Four ways in. Pick the one that matches where you are.
These are not steps on a ladder and you don't have to work through them in order. Come in wherever your estate, your timeline and your budget sit — including straight into a custom build.
Every engagement is custom-built to your requirement. The packages above are starting shapes, not fixed products. Whether you want to try one application on a single cluster before committing, or go straight to a governed production platform across sites, we scope the build around your workloads, your environments and your compliance obligations — and price it before we start.
Tell us your requirementAI, modern apps and data services all run on Kubernetes.
